The group photography exhibition “Unexpected Encounter,” featuring five photographers from South Korea who are members of the Art & Culture Korea Association, is presented as part of Alexandroupolis Photo Week 2026, creating a unique meeting of cultures, images, and people.
Through diverse photographic approaches and personal narratives, the exhibition explores the power of images to connect people, places, and experiences. Photography becomes a starting point for a meaningful dialogue about memory, travel, human connection, and everything that brings us closer together, despite geographical and cultural distances.
“Unexpected Encounter” also serves as a cultural bridge between Alexandroupolis and South Korea, highlighting photography as a universal language of expression and creativity. It is an encounter that transcends borders and reminds us that, through art, even the most distant worlds can come together.
Participating photographers: Candy Kwon, Choi Youngkwi, Jung Okyoung, Kwak Poungyoung, and Shin Eunju.
